Classes

One of my resolutions for 2015 was to take some art classes. I want to keep pushing myself creatively. I thought that would be a good way to do it. My son is just finishing up a beginner drawing class. He's extremly left brained! He excels in math and sciences. He's also pretty darn good at writing! But he is interested in perusing game design, and In this vein, he wants to learn the fundamentals of drawing to give him an understanding of the animation aspect of game design.
He has worked harder at it than I have ever worked at anything in my life I think...ok, that may be an exaggeration, but he's my son, I'm allowed.
He stays after his weekly class one and two hours just to work on his still life. He's a high achiever and driven. He has asked to take the beginning sculpting class next term. I thought what a great idea! We can take it together. I will admit, visions of him and I learning together in the studio, having shared jokes, admiring each other's work...all flitted through my head. I asked him " wouldn't it be cool if I took the class too?"
.....
Ok, I know now that I should have seen this coming, and I am sure you all know EXACTLY  what happened next...

No words...just that 'look'

You know the look.

I know the look, I STILL give it to my mom.

Thankfully I saw 'the look' for what it was and backed down immediately.

I'll find a class for me.

Meanwhile, this is his first attemp at a still life. I love it and will frame it when I get my greedy little mom hands on it!

New home on the web

After months of  frustrations, procrastinations, and flat out denial....I have decided to move my blog from weebly back to blogger. Trying to fluff it up and get it tied onto my Etsy account and gear up for the publication of my Oracle Cards with Schiffer Publishing, was proving to be much, much more frustrating than I thought it would be.
So clean slate, starting over. This will be a work in progress for a few weeks....eh...months.....

Please bear with me!
